Front of House Supervisor – Dark Arts Bar

£15.25 per hour including Tronc - £13.25 base.

Full-time | 40 hours |

Southampton

Dark Arts Bar is looking for a confident, organised and genuinely great-with-people Front of House Supervisor to join our team.

Dark Arts isn't a traditional bar. We combine performance, cocktails, Potion Making, puzzles and immersive experiences in a witchcraft-inspired venue in Southampton.

We're looking for someone who can be a senior, hands-on member of our front-of-house team — looking after guests, keeping busy services organised and helping our Potion Making experiences run brilliantly and comfortable performing a role when interacting with guests.

What you'll be doing

Leading the front-of-house team during shifts
Welcoming guests and making sure they have a brilliant experience
Managing day-to-day bookings, table plans and guest flow
Coordinating our Potion Making sessions and Potion Masters
Helping train and support FOH team members
Handling guest questions, complaints and unexpected problems confidently
Helping organise private hires, parties and larger bookings
Acting as Duty Manager when required
Supporting opening, closing and general venue standards
Helping coordinate rotas, staffing and day-to-day operations
Maintaining experiences and the aesthetic elements of the venue

Who we're looking for

You will need to have experience in hospitality and have worked at supervisor level for a minimum of 2 years.

More importantly, we're looking for someone who is:

A great performer with acting experience
Warm, confident and naturally good with people
Organised and able to juggle several things at once
Comfortable giving direction and leading a team
Calm when something doesn't go to plan
Reliable and able to take responsibility for a shift
Happy working in a busy, unusual and experience-led environment
Available weekend evening /daytimes

Experience with bookings, events, escape rooms, immersive entertainment, theatre or experience-led hospitality would be a bonus, but isn't essential.

Pay & hours

£13.25 per hour + an equal share of tronc.

Our tronc has averaged approximately £2 per hour over the last 12 months, although this is variable and not guaranteed.

About Dark Arts

Dark Arts Bar is an immersive witchcraft-inspired cocktail bar and experience venue in Southampton rated number 1 on trip advisor.

We want people to leave feeling like they've been somewhere genuinely different — whether they've come in for a cocktail, a Potion Making experience, a date night or a celebration.

We're looking for someone who enjoys hospitality, likes taking responsibility and wants to work somewhere with a little more personality than the average bar.
