Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Baker to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and production, with a keen eye for detail and a love for creating delicious baked goods. This role is essential in ensuring that our bakery maintains high standards of quality, freshness, and presentation.

Duties

Prepare and bake a variety of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods according to established recipes.
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are strictly adhered to in the kitchen.
Assist in the development of new recipes and menu items that align with seasonal offerings.
Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders as necessary to maintain stock.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring all equipment is properly cleaned and stored after use.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during busy periods.
Conduct regular quality checks on baked products to ensure they meet our high standards.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year previous experience
Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar role within a restaurant or food production environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary arts.
Proficient in various baking techniques and methods, with an understanding of ingredient properties.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A creative mindset with a passion for baking and culinary innovation.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or late evenings as required.
