Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofs on residential and commercial properties. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects, utilise a range of skills, and contribute to high-quality building standards. Applicants should have a strong background in construction-related trades and be committed to safety and craftsmanship.

Duties

Installing new roofing systems using various materials such as tiles, slates, asphalt, or metal sheets
Repairing or replacing damaged or worn roofing components
Inspecting roofs to assess damage or deterioration and determining appropriate repair methods
Assisting with the preparation of roofing surfaces and ensuring proper insulation and waterproofing
Operating hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently during installation and repair work
Collaborating with other tradespeople such as carpenters, plumbers, or electricians when necessary
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards
Maintaining a clean and organised work site throughout each project

Requirements

Proven experience in roofing, carpentry, or construction trades is essential
Knowledge of related skills including construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical experience, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools is highly desirable
Strong understanding of health and safety practices relevant to roofing work
Ability to work at heights safely and comfortably on ladders or scaffolding
Physical fitness to perform manual labour over extended periods in various weather conditions
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Relevant qualifications or certifications in roofing or construction trades are preferred but not mandatory
