PLEASE READ THE FULL DESCRIPTION

Job Overview - FUN ENERGETIC PERSON FOR A YOUTH HOSTEL THAT CATERS TO MAINLY 18 -30 YEAR OLDS.

We are seeking a friendly and professional Youth Hostel Receptionist to join our team for a LIVE IN POSITION.

YOU MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN THE YOUTH HOSTEL SECTOR.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a welcoming environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant hospitality setting, assisting guests with their enquiries, bookings, and check-in/check-out procedures. The position is paid and ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest services.

Duties

Welcome guests upon arrival and assist with the check-in and check-out process efficiently
Provide information about hostel facilities, local attractions, and travel tips
Handle reservations via phone, email, or in person with excellent phone etiquette
Manage guest enquiries promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience
Maintain accurate records of bookings and guest details using the hostel management system
Assist with organising guest activities and coordinate with other staff members to ensure smooth operations
Ensure the reception area is tidy, organised, and welcoming at all times
Address guest concerns or complaints courteously and resolve issues promptly
Support other administrative tasks as required to ensure the overall smooth running of the hostel

Requirements

Excellent communication skills, including multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
Strong phone etiquette and organisational skills are essential
Passion for guest services and hospitality with a friendly, approachable demeanour
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Flexibility to work shifts that may include evenings or weekends as needed
Basic computer literacy and familiarity with reservation systems are advantageous

We are a social hostel with nightly social events that involve family dinners, drinking games, pool competitions, karaoke and then taking guests to local bars and clubs in london, if this is the sort of things you enjoy then this may be for you, if you dont then maybe not.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
