Job Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing food preparation, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in creating innovative menus and fostering a positive team environment within our hospitality setting.

Duties

Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
Oversee food safety procedures, hygiene standards, and cleanliness within the kitchen environment
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Develop new menu ideas in collaboration with management to enhance customer satisfaction
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to improve skills and maintain high-quality standards
Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
Monitor portion control, presentation, and consistency of all dishes served
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Requirements

Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation techniques, and culinary trends
Excellent cooking skills across various cuisines and styles
Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene practices
Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and organise a team
Experience in food service operations including serving customers when necessary
Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Relevant qualifications in culinary arts or hospitality management are desirable but not essential
