Full job description

The Walnut Tree is looking for a Duty Manager who can assist in the running of this busy quality venue.

You will be required to be responsible for the hotel in all aspects of running a busy hospitality business. Duties will include bar work, waiting on, staff management, ordering and stock control, with inputs & responsibilities into the daily management of the entire hotel operation.

You will report directly to the hotel manager and in their absence, be the point of contact for both staff and customers alike. You must have excellent customer service, a fantastic attitude & work ethic, be willing to learn, and be able to work in and lead a small team. We are looking for candidates with a strong F&B background, and who have solid experience in a management role, the right all-round candidate who can be involved in the management of all departments including overseeing front office and house-keeping. As Duty Manager, you will also be involved in all area of the business, sales, marketing and profit controls.

This is very much a hands-on management role focusing on all areas, but especially F&B. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Assistant / Duty or Deputy Manager in a small quality hotel, although not necessary as full training will be given to the right candidate.

This is a full-time position that would equally suit someone who is looking to develop their all-round skills within a country house hotel/pub environment and be involved in every aspect of the business including operations, events, restaurant management and housekeeping.
