Security Gateman – Immediate Vacancy

Location: Barking, East London

Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour

Hours: 12-hour shifts | 4 on, 4 off rota

The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced and dependable Security Gateman to work on a busy site in Barking. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining site security, managing access, and ensuring the safe movement of vehicles throughout the working day.

Main Duties

Operate the site entrance and control all pedestrian and vehicle access.
Guide delivery vehicles and site traffic safely to and from designated areas.
Register all visitors, contractors, and staff, ensuring site records remain accurate.
Carry out scheduled patrols to identify potential security issues or health and safety concerns.
Remain vigilant throughout the shift and report any incidents, suspicious activity, or breaches of site rules.
Provide a professional and courteous first point of contact for everyone entering the premises.

Candidate Requirements

Current SIA Door Supervisor licence.
Strong awareness of health and safety with the ability to remain attentive at all times.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Reliable, punctual, and able to work a rotating 4 on, 4 off shift pattern, including evenings, nights, and weekends where required.
Previous experience within construction site security, gatehouse operations, or traffic marshalling is desirable but not essential.
