Ensure that all Consignment agreements are in place, signed and are correct.

Manage your team to carry out top up count for theatres and inpatient areas, ensuring there is sufficient stock available at all times

Akessa Healthcare is looking for an experinced Medical Storage Manager to join our operating theatre team, based at The Royal Buckinghamshire Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with strong medical and supply chain experience, ideally within the healthcare sector, to contribute to our commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

As Medical Storage Manager, you will be responsible for managing the procurement function, ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods and services across all sites. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to source the best products and services to support the hospital’s activities while maintaining a strong focus on quality, cost control, and sustainability.

By joining our existing portfolio, the hospital is now run professionally and provides clinical care to private, insured and NHS patients, with a strong ethos on caring for our staff.

The New Foscote Hospital was established in Banbury over 40 years ago and has provided services and treatments to thousands of people from across the region. We have over 50 consultants, all of whom are leaders in their specialist fields and choose to hold their private practices here, working alongside our friendly, highly qualified and experienced nursing and support teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Order stock, to be delivered for all hospital departments
Raise requests to purchase, for all stock not held , for all departments with the exception of Pharmacy
Responsibility for ensuring the correct purchase order policy is followed throughout the hospital and the necessary approvals gained.
Cooperate with the accounts team to ensure that Bills on hold are dealt with in a timely manner
Manage all stock, order, invoice and delivery queries, ensuring all queries are cleared on a weekly basis
Responsibility for ensuring the correct purchase order policy is followed
To comply with all Health & Safety at Work regulations including COSHH, where applicable, whilst being aware of corporate and local safety policies
Ensure compliance with Company rules for capitalised purchases, ensuring correct number of quotations, purchasing and tracking progress
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and service providers, negotiating contracts and managing performance to ensure the delivery of quality products and services on time and within budget.
Manage inventory levels and work with clinical and operational teams to ensure the right materials and supplies are available when needed without overstocking
Monitor and control procurement budgets, ensuring cost efficiency, and reporting regularly on procurement performance and savings opportunities

About You:

Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in a storage management role, with healthcare sector experience highly desirable
Knowledge: understanding of procurement practices, supplier management, contract negotiations, and cost management. Familiarity with healthcare products, services, and supplies is a plus.
Qualifications: A relevant qualification in procurement (CIPS or equivalent) is desirable.
Education: A bachelor’s degree from a reputable university is desirable

Skills:

Strong negotiation and communication skills essential in this role
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle multiple priorities at any given time
Sound knowledge of procurement software and systems.
Financial acumen with the ability to manage budgets and track savings

A proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail
A collaborative approach, working well with clinical and operational teams
Ability to adapt and be flexible, as the role requires cross-site work and varying demands
Stability and longevity in previous posts
