Job Overview:

A plasterer is responsible for applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces to create a smooth and finished appearance. The role requires a mix of craftsmanship, technical skills, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality, durable finishes for a variety of construction and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Apply plaster, render, or drywall compounds to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using hand tools or specialized machinery.

Smooth and level plaster surfaces to create an even, flawless finish.

Prepare surfaces for plastering, including cleaning, priming, and sometimes repairing existing surfaces.

Mix plaster or other materials to the correct consistency and volume for application.

Install and finish drywall by taping

Work with other construction team members, including builders, electricians, and painters, to ensure a smooth workflow and project completion.

Maintain a clean, safe work environment by following all health and safety regulations.

Perform minor repairs to plaster and drywall, such as patching holes and cracks.

Ensure work is completed to the specified quality standards and within deadlines.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven experience as a plasterer

Strong knowledge of plastering materials and techniques.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.

Proficiency in using plastering tools and equipment.

Attention to detail and a keen eye for quality craftsmanship.

Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry materials.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with others.

Valid driver’s license (if applicable for travel between job sites).

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or apprenticeship in plastering or related trade.

Experience with advanced plastering techniques, such as Venetian plaster or stucco.

Knowledge of modern plastering products and technologies.

Working Conditions:

May require working at heights or in confined spaces.

Physical work environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying weather conditions on outdoor jobs.
