Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and energetic Kitchen Assistant/Cook to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for supporting food preparation, cooking, and meal service in a fast-paced environment. Your enthusiasm for culinary arts and commitment to food safety will help ensure that every dish served meets high standards of quality and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary skills while contributing to a welcoming and vibrant food service setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation by chopping, peeling, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes according to recipes and standards
Cook a variety of menu items, ensuring proper cooking techniques and presentation
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including sanitizing work surfaces and equipment regularly
Follow food safety protocols and hygiene standards to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
Support meal service by plating dishes efficiently and serving customers or guests as needed
Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying supervisors when stock needs replenishing
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals during busy periods

Experience

Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for learning is valued highly
Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices
Familiarity with food safety standards and proper hygiene procedures in a commercial kitchen setting
Experience in meal preparation for large groups or in a fast-paced environment is advantageous
Ability to follow recipes accurately, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain attention to detail
Serving experience or familiarity with customer service in a food environment is a plus
