Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Gardener / Builder / Carpenter to help us at our home. The ideal candidate will have a strong appreciation for nature and a keen eye for detail, ensuring that our gardens, fencing, buildings and landscapes are maintained to the highest standards. This role involves a variety of tasks related to landscape maintenance, building maintenance, groundskeeping, and the overall care of outdoor spaces. Own equipment required and the ability to take away garden waste. Must be DBS checked with good references. Some grounds work is required- digging a stone/ concrete trench so owning appropriate tools would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

Maintain gardens by planting, watering, pruning, and fertilising plants and flowers.
Remove brambles and remove weeds
Operate power tools and hand tools safely and effectively for various gardening tasks.
Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, edging, and mulching.
Irrigate plants and ensure proper drainage in garden beds.
Assist in growing new plants from seeds or cuttings as required.
Clear debris and maintain cleanliness in all garden areas.
Monitor plant health and identify any pests or diseases that may affect growth.
Extra DIY skills would be a bonus- for home improvement, fencing etc.

Skills

Proficiency in using power tools such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and blowers.
Tree surgery qualification.
Fencing experience.
Experience in groundskeeping practices to ensure well-maintained outdoor spaces.
Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques including planting, pruning, and irrigation systems.
Ability to grow various plants effectively through proper care techniques.
Familiarity with hand tools used in gardening tasks such as shovels, rakes, and hoes.
Strong attention to detail with an ability to follow instructions accurately.
A passion for horticulture and a commitment to maintaining beautiful outdoor environments.
