Experienced Joiner – Full Time

Stephen Loy Building Services Ltd is seeking an experienced, time-served Joiner to join our growing team on a full-time basis (39 hours per week).

We are a relationship-led specialist contractor delivering refurbishment, fit-out and construction projects across healthcare, care, commercial and high-end residential sectors throughout Edinburgh and the surrounding areas. Our work includes complex renovations, extensions, loft conversions, structural alterations and high-quality fit-out projects.

We’re looking for a skilled joiner who takes pride in his workmanship, has a positive/friendly attitude, and is confident working on a wide variety of projects alongside clients, architects, consultants and fellow tradespeople.

Key Responsibilities

First and second fix joinery
Timber frame and timber kit construction
Floor and roof structures
Door installation
Kitchen fitting
Loft conversions and extension works
Reading and interpreting construction drawings
Working as part of a team on complex refurbishment and construction projects

Essential Requirements

Minimum 5 years’ time-served experience and relevant qualifications
Highly competent in all aspects of domestic joinery
Ability to work from drawings and specifications
Excellent attention to detail
Professional, reliable and self-motivated
Strong communication skills and a positive attitude
Ability to liaise confidently with clients, architects and colleagues
Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation and safe working practices within the construction industry
Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential
