Overview

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the efficient operation of our warehouse, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Previous warehouse experience and basic electrical knowledge are advantageous, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills within a well-established organisation.

Responsibilities

Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse premises
Operating warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
Assisting with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading lorries
Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer requirements
Restocking shelves and ensuring stock is organised logically for easy access
Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary
Ensuring the workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
Assisting with general warehouse duties as required to support team operations

Experience

Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided for motivated candidates
Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse machinery operation (e.g., forklift) is advantageous
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is desirable
Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, stocking, and quality control will be beneficial
Electrical aptitude or knowledge of basic maintenance procedures is a plus
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy in all duties undertaken
