Full job description

This isn’t a job at a grey, faceless firm. We’re The NumberCrunchers — a 100% cloud-based Xero specialist practice in Cirencester. Small enough that your work genuinely matters. Organised enough that you’re not firefighting. And good enough at what we do that we’ve grown over 25% year-on-year for a decade.

We’re looking for an Accounts Senior to join our team, supporting our two team leaders — Jack and Jacqui — in delivering excellent compliance work for a portfolio of small limited companies and self-employed clients. Mostly FRS105 accounts and corporation tax, with some bookkeeping clients thrown in.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Preparing FRS105 accounts and corporation tax returns for a portfolio of limited companies and sole traders
Handling bookkeeping for a small number of A and B clients within Jack and Jacqui’s portfolios
Being the day-to-day point of contact for your allocated clients — answering questions clearly, chasing what needs chasing
Working within Xero and Dext to keep everything clean, accurate and on schedule
Supporting the team leaders with reviews, queries and keeping things moving to the TNC practice standards
Flagging anything that needs attention early — no surprises, for clients or colleagues

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

AAT qualified, part-qualified (ACCA/ACA) or qualified by experience — we care about what you can do, not just letters after your name
Solid hands-on experience preparing FRS105 accounts and corporation tax in an accountancy practice
Xero Certified — or genuinely confident in Xero, not just familiar with it
A decent communicator: comfortable talking to clients in plain English without hiding behind jargon
Organised and reliable — your team and your clients can count on you
Happy working as part of a team that has systems, standards and actually follows them

£32,000–£37,500 depending on experience

We’re Fair Tax Accredited, active in the Cirencester community, and proud of the fact that our clients actually like us. We don’t do suits, stuffiness or last-minute filing. We do systems, good advice and people who enjoy coming to work.
