Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Kitchen Staff Member to join our small café team. This role involves preparing food items, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, assisting with inventory, and ensuring high food quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and works well as part of a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and assemble menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
Assist with food prep including chopping, portioning, and basic cooking
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen, storage, and prep areas
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment as needed
Monitor food stock levels and inform manager when supplies run low
Properly store food items and label according to guidelines
Support team members during busy periods
Assist with receiving and organizing deliveries

Required Skills

Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques
Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong attention to detail
Good time management skills
Ability to follow instructions and standardized recipes
Team-oriented attitude
Strong work ethic and reliability

Required Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen, café, or food service environment preferred
Experience with food prep, dishwashing

Preferred Qualifications

Food Handler’s Certificate (if required by local regulations)
Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
