Full job description

Location: Brampford Speke, near Exeter
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Hours: Full-time, including evenings and weekends
Pay: Competitive, depending on experience + tips through TRONC

We’re looking for a friendly, confident and reliable Front of House Assistant to join our team at The Agricultural Inn – or The Agi, as everyone knows us!

We’re an independent, family-run country pub and restaurant just outside Exeter, with a strong reputation for great food, local produce and genuinely warm hospitality.

This is a permanent, full-time position and would suit someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in giving great service and wants to become a valued part of a close-knit team.

The Role

You’ll be involved in all aspects of front of house, helping us make sure every guest receives a warm welcome and a great experience from the moment they arrive.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

Welcoming and seating guests
Taking food and drink orders
Providing friendly, knowledgeable table service
Serving drinks and working behind the bar
Making coffees and other hot drinks
Taking payments and using our till system
Learning our food and drinks menus so you can confidently make recommendations
Helping with restaurant set-up and close-down
Clearing and resetting tables
Keeping the bar, restaurant and customer areas clean and organised
Working closely with the kitchen team during busy services
Helping with private functions, events and special occasions
Making sure our guests leave wanting to come back

Who We're Looking For

Previous hospitality experience would be an advantage, but attitude and personality are just as important to us.
