Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and organised Medical Administrator/Receptionist to join our GP Practice Team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. Your responsibilities will include managing front desk operations, scheduling appointments, handling administrative tasks, and supporting clinical staff to deliver exceptional patient care. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a well-organised medical practice while developing your skills in healthcare administration.

Responsibilities

Greet patients and visitors warmly, creating a positive first impression of the practice
Manage appointment scheduling efficiently using the practice’s electronic health record system
Answer incoming phone calls promptly, providing accurate information or directing calls appropriately
Verify and maintain patient records accurate and up to date
Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and processing correspondence
Maintain a clean and organised reception area to promote a professional environment
Support clinical staff with basic administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

Previous office experience in a healthcare or medical setting is preferred
Strong administrative skills with attention to detail and organization
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with office software such as Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs
Knowledge of medical terminology or experience working with electronic health records is a plus
