Full job description

Celtic Sea Power (CSP) is at the forefront of developing opportunities within the Celtic Sea, supporting innovation, collaboration and sustainable growth across the offshore renewable energy sector.

We're looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance, Compliance & Commercial Manager to join our growing team. This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation operates with strong financial discipline, effective governance, regulatory compliance and commercial rigour.

You'll work closely with senior leaders, project teams, funders and external partners, helping to create the robust financial and governance framework needed to support CSP's ambitious growth plans.

The Role

As Finance, Compliance & Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of financial operations, contract administration, grant compliance and governance activities across the organisation.

You will provide financial insight and commercial support to projects and programmes, ensuring that funding requirements, contractual commitments and organisational controls are effectively managed.

This role combines operational finance, compliance management and commercial administration, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to make a tangible impact in a fast-moving organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Finance

Manage day-to-day financial operations and records.
Coordinate accounts payable and receivable activities.
Monitor cash flow, budgets and forecasts.
Prepare monthly management accounts and performance reports.
Support payroll administration and annual budgeting processes.
Maintain and improve financial control procedures.

Commercial & Contract Management

Maintain contract registers and monitor contractual obligations.
Support pricing, costing and bid development activities.
Coordinate project invoicing and grant claims.
Monitor project financial performance and profitability.
Identify commercial risks and opportunities.

Compliance & Governance

Ensure compliance with grant funding requirements.
Maintain audit trails and support external audits.
Support procurement and tendering activities.
Maintain governance records, risk registers and action trackers.
Support GDPR, information governance and corporate compliance activities.
Assist with Board and governance reporting.

Business Support

Provide financial and commercial advice across the organisation.
Support project managers and capability leads in financial decision-making.
Promote financial awareness and best practice.
Contribute to organisational learning and continuous improvement.

About You

We're looking for a proactive, organised and detail-focused professional who can confidently operate across finance, compliance and commercial disciplines.

Essential Experience

Financial administration and financial reporting.
Budget monitoring and forecasting.
Contract administration.
Compliance management.
Working with grant-funded programmes.
Supporting multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Essential Skills

Strong financial analysis and reporting skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Commercial awareness and sound judgement.

Problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Qualifications

AAT, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ICAEW or equivalent financial qualification.
Candidates working towards a professional qualification will also be considered.

Procurement and tendering activities.
