About Us:

Sundae Roast is a brand-new dessert café opening in Bowness-on-Windermere, serving artisan ice cream, waffles, brunch, great coffee and cakes — all in a fun, welcoming space.

The Role:

We’re looking for friendly, energetic team members who love working with people and creating a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

Greet guests warmly and manage reservations efficiently to optimise seating arrangements
Take accurate food and beverage orders, ensuring special dietary requirements are accommodated
Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and hygiene
Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, adhering to food safety regulations
Upsell menu items to enhance guest satisfaction and maximise sales opportunities
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of front of house areas, including tables, counters, and service stations
Handle customer enquiries courteously and resolve any issues promptly to ensure a positive dining experience
Support kitchen staff with basic tasks when required, demonstrating flexibility and teamwork
Some cover making sandwiches and brunch dishes

Experience

Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving techniques is advantageous
Experience in food preparation or culinary roles can be beneficial for understanding menu offerings
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively during busy periods
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately and managing bills confidently
Proven ability to upsell menu items to enhance guest experience and increase sales potential
Excellent communication skills with a friendly, professional demeanour suitable for engaging with diverse customers
