Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Kitchen Manager/Head Chef to lead our small kitchen. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a passion for delivering exceptional food experiences. This role involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, managing staff, ensuring food safety standards, and maintaining high-quality food production in a fast-paced environment. The Kitchen Manager/Head Chef will play a pivotal role in shaping the culinary direction of our establishment while fostering a positive and efficient working atmosphere.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, ensuring smooth daily operations
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain high standards of quality, presentation, and taste
Manage food production schedules to meet service demands efficiently
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
Develop and update menus in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative dishes
Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock control to minimise waste and optimise costs
Train staff on proper cooking techniques, safety procedures, and customer service standards
Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety guidelines
Assist in serving customers during busy periods when necessary
Foster a positive team environment that encourages professional development and teamwork

Skills

Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
Extensive culinary experience with strong food preparation and cooking skills
Demonstrated ability to manage a team effectively in a high-pressure environment
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene management
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and promote teamwork
Experience in menu development and food presentation techniques
Familiarity with hospitality operations, including serving procedures and customer service standards
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
Passion for innovative cuisine and continuous improvement within the culinary field

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
