Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter and Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, as well as decorating interiors and exteriors of buildings. This role requires attention to detail, good communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. A valid driving licence is essential to facilitate transportation to different sites. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about painting and decorating to develop their skills within a professional environment.

Duties

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, or filling cracks before painting or decorating
Applying paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and care
Mixing colours and selecting appropriate materials for each project
Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations
Communicating effectively with clients and team members regarding project requirements and progress
Managing tools and equipment efficiently, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards on site
Assisting with the planning and organisation of decorating projects from start to finish
Adapting techniques based on different surfaces and environments, including both interior and exterior work

Experience

Previous 5 years experience in painting or decorating is essential
Knowledge of different painting techniques and finishing methods
Familiarity with health and safety procedures
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment safely and effectively
Own tools and a valid driving licence with transport is essential for site travel purposes

The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills to ensure high-quality results on every project undertaken.
