Job Summary

Location: Conway House Dental Practice, High Wycombe HP12 3AR

Job Type: Full-time / Part-time / Permanent

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with two Saturdays per month

Pay: Competitive salary, plus a monthly performance bonus scheme.

Job Overview

Conway House Dental Practice is seeking a professional, organised and friendly Dental Receptionist to join our welcoming team.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating an excellent patient experience while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of our busy reception. This position requires outstanding communication and organisational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced dental environment.

Previous dental reception or administrative experience is desirable, but full training will be provided for the right candidate with excellent customer service skills and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients warmly and ensure they receive a friendly and professional service.
Manage appointment bookings, confirmations, cancellations and rescheduling using the practice management system.
Handle patient check-in and check-out efficiently.
Answer telephone calls, respond to patient enquiries and direct calls where appropriate.
Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with GDPR and practice policies.
Process patient payments and assist with billing procedures.
Send appointment reminders and follow up on missed appointments or outstanding treatment.
Support the dental team with general administrative duties, including filing, scanning, printing and correspondence.
Order and maintain reception supplies as required.
Ensure the reception area is clean, organised and welcoming at all times.
Work closely with the clinical team to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.

Experience & Skills

Previous reception, customer service or administrative experience is preferred.
Dental reception experience is advantageous but not essential.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Friendly, professional and approachable manner.
Ability to remain calm and efficient in a busy environment.
Confident using computers and learning new software.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) is beneficial.
Reliable, punctual and able to work well independently and as part of a team.
References must be available upon request.
