Full job description

Overview

7th Heaven Bakery is opening at Eden Shopping Centre, High Wycombe, and we are looking for friendly, enthusiastic and customer-focused Front of House Baristas to join our growing team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, has a passion for coffee and hospitality, and takes pride in delivering a warm and memorable customer experience.

You will be responsible for preparing high-quality drinks, serving our cakes, desserts and food items, taking customer orders, processing payments and maintaining a clean, welcoming front-of-house environment.

Previous barista or hospitality experience is preferred, but full training will be provided to suitable candidates who demonstrate a positive attitude, reliability and a willingness to learn.

Key responsibilities

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including speciality coffees, teas and other drinks, in line with company standards.
Welcome customers warmly and provide friendly, attentive and efficient service.
Take customer orders accurately and answer questions about our cakes, desserts, drinks and other menu items.
Serve food and beverage orders for both dine-in and takeaway customers.
Prepare and present light food items where required.
Operate the till and card payment system accurately.
Process payments and handle cash responsibly.
Maintain attractive and well-stocked cake, dessert and beverage displays.
Keep counters, tables, seating areas, equipment and customer-facing areas clean and organised.
Follow food hygiene, allergen awareness and health and safety procedures at all times.
Restock cups, packaging, ingredients and other supplies throughout the shift.
Assist with opening and closing duties where required.
Work closely with kitchen and bakery team members to ensure orders are prepared and served efficiently.
Remain calm, organised and professional during busy trading periods.
Help create a welcoming atmosphere where every customer leaves with a positive impression.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:

Friendly, approachable and confident when speaking with customers.
Passionate about coffee, hospitality and delivering excellent service.
Reliable, punctual and responsible.
Positive and able to work well as part of a team.
Comfortable working in a busy customer-facing environment.
Organised and able to manage several tasks at the same time.
Attentive to detail and committed to high standards of cleanliness.
Willing to learn and develop new barista and hospitality skills.
Flexible with working hours, including weekends and busy seasonal periods.

Experience and qualifications

Previous barista, cafe, bakery, restaurant, retail or front-of-house experience is desirable but not essential.
Experience handling customer orders and payments would be beneficial.
Basic knowledge of food safety and allergen procedures is desirable.
Good communication and basic numerical skills are required.
Barista, food hygiene or customer service training would be an advantage, although training can be provided.
