Care Assistant

Key Responsibilities

Support residents with daily living activities, including personal care, hygiene, eating, and mobility
Deliver person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence, and wellbeing
Follow care plans and report any changes in residents’ needs to senior staff
Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date care records
Work collaboratively with colleagues and healthcare professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality care
Build positive relationships with residents, families, and visitors
Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment in line with health & safety and infection control standards

Person Specification

Essential

A caring, compassionate, and respectful approach
Good communication skills (spoken and written English)
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Reliable, flexible, and committed to high standards of care
Understanding of dignity, safeguarding, and person-centred care

Desirable

Previous experience in a care setting (minimum 6 months preferred)
Care Certificate
Level 2 qualification in Health & Social Care
Awareness of CQC standards and regulatory requirements

Hours

Full-time – 36 hours per week
Shifts worked over a 7-day rota (including weekends and bank holidays)

Additional Information

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references
Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of residents
Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English (Spoken & written) to carry out the role safely
