Full job description

Job Summary
We're looking for an experienced and CSCS-qualified excavator driver to operate mini and midi excavators on active construction and groundworks sites. You'll be working on a variety of projects including drainage, foundations, driveway preparation, and landscaping groundworks.

Duties

Operate mini/midi excavators (typically 1.5T–8T) safely and efficiently on site
⁠Carry out excavation, grading, and backfilling to instruction and drawing
Work alongside groundworks gangs, labourers, and site management
⁠Comply with all site health & safety requirements
⁠Carry out daily plant checks and report defects
Work to set-out levels and coordinate with site agent/supervisor

Requirements

Valid CSCS card with relevant certification for excavator operation
Proven experience operating excavators and plant machinery in a construction environment
Mechanical knowledge to identify basic faults and perform minor repairs if necessary
Commercial driving licence (CPC) or equivalent is desirable
Strong understanding of health and safety procedures on construction sites
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail
Sites based in Southampton so willing to travel or pick up can be arranged from Crawley or surrounding areas

⁠Reliable, punctual, and professional
