Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispenser to join our team at Alconbury Surgery. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring patient safety, and providing exceptional patient care. Your expertise will help ensure that patients have the right medication at the right time while maintaining compliance with all regulatory standards. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to patient well-being in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Responsibilities

Accurately dispense prescribed medications
Verify medication labels, dosages, and patient information to prevent errors
Assist with medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper handling and storage
Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance on proper usage
Maintain detailed records of dispensed medications, inventory levels, and patient interactions
Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to ensure safe medication practices
Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling of controlled substances and hazardous materials

Experience

Prior experience as a Dispenser in a similar role is highly preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and patient care practices is essential
Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are required to ensure accuracy in dispensing processes
Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
Familiarity with GP Surgery software system emis and Dispensit is advantageous
