Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Bank Chef / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the preparation and serving of meals within a busy kitchen environment, ensuring high standards of food safety and quality. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills and gain valuable experience in a professional setting. The position is paid and suitable for those with a passion for food and service.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
Support the cooking process under the supervision of senior kitchen staff
Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are maintained at all times
Help with meal assembly and presentation to meet quality standards
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Assist with stock rotation, storage, and inventory checks
Serve meals to customers or clients in a courteous and efficient manner
Support the overall organisation of the kitchen to ensure smooth operation during service times

Experience

Previous experience in a kitchen environment or restaurant setting is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods is advantageous
Familiarity with food safety regulations and hygiene practices is preferred
Experience in meal preparation, serving, or related roles will be considered a plus
Ability to work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
A genuine interest in culinary arts and customer service is essential
