Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Care Workers to provide high-quality support to individuals in various care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and private homes. This role involves delivering personalised care to enhance the wellbeing and independence of clients, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for caring for others and possess relevant experience in senior care, dementia care, or hospice care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through attentive and respectful caregiving.

Duties

Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
Support with medication administration in accordance with prescribed schedules
Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
Manage behaviour effectively, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
Provide specialised care for clients with complex needs, including hospice or palliative care
Drive clients to appointments or outings when necessary, ensuring safety during transportation
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
Respond promptly to emergencies using first aid skills when required
Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment

Requirements

Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments is highly desirable
Knowledge of patient care techniques, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties
Strong communication skills with the ability to interact empathetically with clients of all ages
Certification or training in first aid is advantageous
Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a caring attitude is essential
Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a supportive environment
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting client dignity at all times
