Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our busy culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment, supporting food preparation, and ensuring all areas meet health and safety standards. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a professional hospitality setting, with potential for development within the team.

Responsibilities

Wash, clean, and sanitise dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment efficiently
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by chefs or kitchen supervisors
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure hygiene standards are met
Support in organising stock and ingredients, including rotating stock and checking expiry dates
Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
Assist with setting up dining areas and clearing tables during service periods when required
Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
Knowledge of food preparation and cooking processes is advantageous
Familiarity with kitchen hygiene standards and safety procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills and attention to detail
Willingness to learn new skills and support team members as needed
A positive attitude and strong work ethic are essential for success in this role

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
