Role Overview

This is a high-impact, hybrid role designed for a "maker" who is equally comfortable with a wrench and a dataset. Sitting at the intersection of field engineering and data analysis, you will be the face of Figura in labs and breweries across the UK and Europe. Your mission? To provide seamless technical and application support -helping us "MAKE BEER BETTER".

Key Responsibilities

Field Engineering & Technical Support

Onsite Engineering and Support: Perform maintenance, repairs, and hardware/software upgrades at customer sites. Travel approximately 50 - 60% of the time – predominantly UK.
Hardware Ownership: Install, optimize, maintain, and repair Figura instruments and software products.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve product performance issues and hardware/software upgrades.
Logistics: Manage the delivery and deployment of portable instruments to customers.

Data Quality & Application Support

Data Integrity: Improve the accuracy of drinks sample data and support overall data management to ensure it is valuable for customers.
Problem Solving: Diagnose and resolve performance issues, providing end-to-end solutions for customers in labs and breweries.
Documentation: Prepare and maintain technical documentation to ensure compliance with Figura Quality standards.

Customer Success & Training

Relationship Management: Communicate proactively with customers before, during, and after service visits.
Collaborative Sales Support: Plan and provide high-level demos and sample analysis in coordination with the Sales and Account teams.
Empowerment: Train and onboard new users on preventative maintenance and system configurations so they can use the technology to their advantage.
Solutions-Oriented: Address application-related issues and provide end-to-end solutions onsite.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications & Skills

This role is a strong fit if you recognise yourself in the following:

You have a STEM degree (Chemistry, Engineering or similar) and enjoy working at the boundary of hardware and data.
You’re happy on the road — around 50-60% of your time will be spent visiting breweries, labs, and production facilities across the UK.
You’re a natural troubleshooter who takes pride in diagnosing a problem and seeing it through to resolution.
You communicate clearly with customers and colleagues alike, translating technical detail into plain language without losing accuracy.
You have 1–2 years of hands-on experience with instrumentation, analytical equipment, or data analysis software.
You bring a “can-do” attitude, a strong attention to detail, and a genuine desire to keep learning.
