Full job description

About Us:

We are an established residential Children’s Homes provider of care and support to children aged between 11 and 17 years who have emotional and behavioural difficulties. We help them in our small homes, which have no more than three children. We do this by using a therapeutic, trauma-informed PLACE approach, which stands for Playfulness, Love, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy.

Job Purpose:

The Internal Recruitment Consultant owns the end-to-end recruitment process for Cornerways Care, from identifying vacancies through to onboarding new starters. The role is responsible for attracting candidates to apply for care work at the organisation; running a compliant and thorough recruitment and vetting process in line with Ofsted requirements; and ensuring every applicant meets the safeguarding standards required to work with children. This is an exciting new role which will develop as the Company grows.

Key Responsibilities:

· Own the full recruitment lifecycle: agreeing role requirements with hiring managers, sourcing, screening, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.

· Build and maintain talent pipelines for hard-to-fill and recurring roles.

· Track vacancies, applications, and time-to-hire, and report on recruitment activity and performance.

· Write engaging, accurate job adverts that appeal to candidates suited to work in children's residential care.

· Post and manage adverts across relevant job boards and platforms.

· Monitor advert performance and adjust approach to improve response quality and volume.

· Manage the company's LinkedIn presence for recruitment purposes, including posting vacancies, sharing content, and engaging with candidates.

· Use LinkedIn Recruiter (or equivalent) to proactively search for and approach candidates.

· Contribute to building Cornerways Care's employer brand to support candidate attraction.

· Manage the full pre-employment vetting process in line with Ofsted requirements and Cornerways Care's Safer Recruitment Policy, including DBS checks, right-to-work checks, reference collection, and employment history verification. Full training will be provide on this.

· Ensure all compliance documentation is complete before a candidate starts.

· Keep up to date with changes in safer recruitment and Ofsted regulatory requirements, and update recruitment processes accordingly.

· Flag and escalate any concerns arising during application in line with Cornerways Care Safer Recruitment Policy.

· Organise interview schedules, liaising with candidates and hiring managers.

· Sit on interview panels, asking questions and contributing to candidate assessment against role and safeguarding criteria.

· Ensure interview records and scoring are documented and retained appropriately.

· Support onboarding of new starters, including induction scheduling and right-to-start confirmation.

· Maintain recruitment trackers, applicant tracking system (ATS) records, and candidate communications.

· Provide recruitment updates and advice to hiring managers.

· Support wider HR/recruitment projects as required.

· Knowledge in managing end-to-end recruitment

· Knowledge of safer recruitment practices and pre-employment vetting (DBS, references, right to work).

· Strong written communication skills, with the ability to write engaging job adverts.

· Experience using LinkedIn (or similar) for candidate sourcing and employer branding.

· Confident interviewing skills.

· Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple vacancies at once.

· Willingness to learn Ofsted regulatory requirements relevant to recruitment in children's residential care.

· Familiarity with an applicant tracking system (ATS).

· Excellent communication skills to attract applicants and maintain staffing levels at Cornerways Care.
