Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the smooth operation of our accounting processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your expertise in various accounting software programmes and contribute to the financial health of our organisation.

Responsibilities

Manage and maintain accurate financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero
Process accounts payable and receivable in a timely manner
Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded
Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
Prepare financial reports and summaries for management review
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant financial regulations
Collaborate with external auditors during audits as required

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an organisational finance team
Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, and Xero
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management
Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Relevant qualification in accounting or finance is desirable but not essential

This position is ideal for candidates who are meticulous, reliable, and eager to support organisational financial operations through their expertise in accounting systems.

Pay: £24,420.00-£28,000.00 per year
