The Shambles Windsor are looking for an experienced and driven Chef to join the team and help us take our food offering to the next level. Our beautiful venue passionate and knowledgeable cook to help grow our menu and manage our kitchen.

Opened in the summer or 2023, The Shambles is a Café/restaurant during the day serving the best coffee town and a delicious yet simple food offering. At night we transition into a wine and cocktail bar serving incredible beverages and small plates in a cool, relaxed atmosphere. We offer a growing list of natural and contemporary wines, modern seasonal cocktails, local beers and British spirits to have in or to take away from our bottle shop. The food offering is simple and we are looking to increase the menu to incorporate more dishes and a wider range of delicious food. Our guests vary from visiting tourists to Windsor locals and, for the second year running, we were voted best bar in Berkshire by Muddy Stilettos!

Ideal candidate:
You are a Chef with at least 3 years experience. You are excited by food, seasonality, British produce, storytelling, sustainability, and continually aim to showcase great ingredients with your dishes.

This Job would be perfect for a professional, hardworking and ambitious chef to gain experience developing dishes and managing a small kitchen in a fast growing, independent business.

The Role:

You will work all aspects of the Kitchen, working alongside the owners to create and execute the menu
Oversee service throughought the week, observing standards and adapting to aid efficiency & sales
You will be in charge of retaining existing & initiating new relationships with suppliers, plus organising orders and stock systems alongside the owner
You will be in charge of overseeing and maintaining the venue’s food safety & hygiene protocols and preparing food, cleaning and conforming to all best practices.
You will oversee the training of the floor team to best communicate the dishes to the guests

Experience/qualifications

Cooking: 3 year (required)
Clean smart appearance, friendly and professional approach, with an interest in food.
NVQ level 3, certificate in food hygiene.
COSHH training.
Food allergy training.
