Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our dedicated care team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality support and supervision to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their well-being, safety, and comfort are prioritized at all times. Your leadership skills will help foster a warm, respectful environment where residents feel valued and cared for. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults while developing your leadership and supervisory expertise.

Responsibilities

Administering and recording medication.
Deliver personalized care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, while promoting independence.
Supervise and support junior care staff, ensuring the delivery of consistent, compassionate care aligned with individual care plans.
Develop, review, and update care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to meet evolving needs.
Lead by example in maintaining high standards of hygiene, safety, and dignity within the care environment.
Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and team members to ensure clear understanding of care requirements and preferences.
Use IT systems to document resident progress, update records accurately, and manage schedules efficiently.
Assist with driving responsibilities for residents when necessary, supporting outings or appointments safely and responsibly.

Requirements

Proven experience working in a care home environment with a focus on senior care.
Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care setting.
Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members.
Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs.
Valid driving license and experience with driving residents or staff when required.
Knowledge of IT systems used for documentation and record keeping in healthcare settings.
A caring attitude combined with the ability to supervise staff confidently while maintaining professionalism.
