Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Forklift Driver to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to handle materials, assist with shipping and receiving, and maintain organised storage areas. This role is vital in ensuring smooth warehouse operations and timely dispatch of goods. Prior experience in warehouse management systems and mechanical knowledge is highly desirable. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and a commitment to safety.

Duties

Operate forklift trucks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse
Assist with shipping and receiving processes, ensuring accurate documentation and handling of goods
Manage materials handling tasks, including stacking, organising, and storing products safely
Conduct routine equipment inspections and minor repairs to maintain forklift safety and functionality
Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory movements and update records accurately
Support the organisation of storage areas to optimise space utilisation and accessibility
Perform basic mathematical calculations for inventory counts, measurements, and weight assessments
Adhere to health and safety regulations during all operations, including heavy lifting procedures

Skills

Proven experience operating forklift trucks in a busy warehouse environment
Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory control
Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform minor repairs on equipment
Strong materials handling skills with attention to safety standards
Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures and documentation requirements
Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
Basic math skills for inventory management and measurement calculations
Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Awareness of health and safety protocols related to warehouse operations
