Job Overview

We are seeking reliable and motivated self-employed Courier Drivers to join our team providing first-class delivery services for DHL Express Reading. The successful candidates will be responsible for the timely and safe delivery of packages to various destinations.

This role demands excellent driving skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service. As a Courier Driver, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our clients receive their deliveries promptly and in perfect condition.

You will typically complete between 90–110 delivery stops and collections per day. Full training is provided to help you succeed in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a delivery vehicle in compliance with all road and traffic regulations.
Load, secure, and unload packages efficiently to prevent damage in transit.
Plan and optimise delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries and collections.
Communicate clearly and professionally with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including signatures and any discrepancies.
Perform routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance issues.
Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including inventory tasks and heavy lifting.

Experience and Requirements

Previous experience as a courier or delivery driver is preferred (DHL or similar environment advantageous).
Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
Proof of settlement status (right to work in the UK).
Clear DBS check.
Minimum of 5 years of tax return history.
Physically fit and able to handle packages of varying weights.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Professional, punctual, and customer-focused attitude.
