Accounts Assistant

Salary: £25,000 – £26,000 per year + Group Bonus Scheme

Due to continued expansion, HPL Motors is looking to recruit an additional Accounts Assistant to join our busy, supportive, and growing finance team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounts professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in accuracy, and wants to be part of a successful and expanding business with a strong team culture.

The Role

Reporting into the finance team, you will support both the Purchase Ledger Accounts Assistant and the Assistant Accountant with a variety of day-to-day finance duties, ensuring the smooth running of the department.

Key Responsibilities

Processing high volumes of purchase ledger invoices accurately and efficiently
Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
Preparing and processing supplier payments
Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
Providing general accounts and administrative support to the finance team
Assisting with process improvements and problem-solving where required
Supporting month-end finance activities when needed

Essential Requirements

Previous purchase ledger/accounts payable experience
Previous accounts or finance administration experience
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively
Proactive approach with good problem-solving abilities
Strong IT skills, including experience using finance systems and Microsoft Office
Positive attitude and willingness to contribute as part of a team

Desirable

Experience within the motor trade (advantageous but not essential)

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.

Working hours will fall between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with agreed timings to suit the successful candidate.
