Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of cook/chef. This position involves supporting the kitchen operations through food preparation and meal service, ensuring high standards of food safety and customer satisfaction. The successful candidate will have a passion for culinary arts and a keen eye for detail, contributing to a welcoming and efficient environment.

Responsibilities

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients according to recipes and standards
Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during meal preparation and service
Help with meal presentation to ensure dishes are visually appealing before serving
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen equipment throughout shifts
Serve meals to our residents in a courteous and professional manner
Assist with stock rotation and inventory checks to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients
Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to create a safe working environment

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
Experience working in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous
Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures is preferred
Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and kitchen equipment will be beneficial
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
Strong communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and residents

Pay: £12.71-£13.27 per hour
