Electrician

Location: Working across the Midlands
Contract: Permanent

Working Hours: 30–42.5 hours per week. The exact hours can be agreed with the successful candidate prior to starting.
Start Date: Flexible for the right candidate
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)

The Role

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, repairs, inspections, and maintenance across a range of projects.

You will work both independently and alongside other team members to deliver high-quality work while maintaining strong safety standards and excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings
Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications
Test and inspect electrical systems to ensure compliance with UK regulations and the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
Diagnose electrical faults and implement effective solutions
Carry out preventive maintenance and upgrades to electrical equipment
Respond to repair requests, carry out inspections, and complete work efficiently to agreed standards
Assist with installations, refurbishments, and routine maintenance projects
Ensure all work meets health, safety, and quality standards
Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and tidy condition
Support other team members and work independently when required
Represent the company professionally when liaising with customers and colleagues

Person Specification

We are looking for someone who is reliable, motivated, and takes pride in delivering quality work.

Essential:

Qualified electrician (NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation / Test and Inspection 2391 or equivalent)
Good knowledge of UK electrical standards, codes, and safety regulations
Practical experience with a range of electrical systems
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

Inspection and testing qualifications
Experience across both domestic and commercial projects

Personal qualities:

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Good communication skills when dealing with clients and colleagues
Strong work ethic and reliability
Physical ability to work in varied environments
