Football Technical Coach / Football Performance Coach

About Track Academy

Track Academy is a youth development charity based in Brent, using sport, education and mentoring to help young people build confidence, resilience and brighter futures.

We are now developing a new Football Performance Department designed to support young footballers with a full academy-style development package: football technical coaching, speed, strength and conditioning, change of direction, injury prevention, physio support, performance testing and player reports.

This is not just a normal football session. We want to build something serious, professional and unique — a programme that helps young players become faster, stronger, sharper, more skilful and more confident.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced football coach to help lead the technical football side of this programme.

The Role

We are looking for a Football Technical Coach / Football Performance Coach who can deliver high-quality football coaching for young players aged approximately 8–16.

The coach will work alongside Track Academy’s S&C/speed coaching team to create a joined-up performance environment where players improve technically, physically and mentally.

You will be responsible for delivering football sessions that improve technical ability, game understanding and football-specific movement.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver high-quality football coaching sessions for young players.
Improve players’ technical ability including first touch, passing, receiving, turning, dribbling, 1v1s, finishing and ball mastery.
Deliver position-specific and game-realistic practices.
Help players improve scanning, decision-making, movement, pressing, recovery runs and football intelligence.
Work alongside the speed and S&C coach to connect football development with athletic development.
Support 6-week player development plans and contribute to player reports.
Help create a professional, positive and high-standard training environment.
Communicate well with players, parents and staff.
Follow Track Academy safeguarding, behaviour and coaching standards.
Attend occasional staff meetings, reviews or CPD sessions where required.

What We Are Looking For

Essential:

Strong experience coaching young footballers.
Confident delivering technical football sessions.
Good understanding of youth development.
Ability to coach with detail, energy and professionalism.
Strong communication skills with young people and parents.
Enhanced DBS or willingness to complete one.
Safeguarding Children qualification or willingness to complete.
First Aid in Football or willingness to complete.
Reliable, organised and committed.

Desirable:

UEFA C Licence or above.
UEFA B Licence or working towards it.
Experience in academy, grassroots, JPL, development centre or performance football environments.
Experience working with players aged 8–16.
Understanding of speed, agility, strength and conditioning, or injury prevention.
Ability to support player reviews, testing days and development reports.

We want a coach who cares about detail, standards and young people. Someone who can improve players technically but also help them build confidence, discipline and belief.

You should be able to coach with energy but also with patience. We want someone who understands that every player is different and that development takes time.

Higher rates may be considered for coaches with UEFA B, academy experience, or the ability to take a lead role within the football programme.
