Breakfast Chef (30 Hours per Week)
The Morritt Hotel & Garage Spa, Greta Bridge

The Morritt Hotel & Garage Spa is part of Squirrel Hotels, a family-owned hospitality business operating two hotels in the North East of England. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional food, service and guest experiences in a welcoming and professional environment.

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Breakfast Chef to join our award-winning kitchen team. Working alongside our Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will help prepare and present high-quality dishes while maintaining exceptional standards of food safety, hygiene and kitchen operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a chef who enjoys working in a busy, professional kitchen and is passionate about delivering outstanding food and guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present dishes to the highest standards.
Maintain excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness practices.
Support menu development and food preparation alongside the Head Chef.
Ensure efficient stock rotation and minimise food waste.
Monitor portion control and maintain consistency in food quality.
Support colleagues across the kitchen team as required.
Follow all health and safety procedures.
Contribute to an organised and efficient kitchen operation.

What We're Looking For

Previous experience working in a professional kitchen environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
Reliable, hardworking and flexible approach to work.
Good time management and organisational skills.
A positive attitude and passion for delivering excellent food and service.
Smart, professional appearance.

Hours

30 hours per week.
Working 5 days out of 7, including weekends and public holidays.
Early starts required.
