Domiciliary Care Support Worker – Driver Required

Location: Stamford and the surrounding areas
Pay: £13.50–£15 per hour, depending on experience and responsibilities

Job summary

Everliving Services is looking for a compassionate, reliable and flexible Domiciliary Care Support Worker to provide high-quality, person-centred care to clients in their own homes and within the community.

You will help clients remain safe, comfortable and independent while respecting their dignity, rights, preferences and personal choices.

As this is a community-based role involving travel between clients’ homes, a valid UK driving licence is essential.

Core responsibilities

Personal care: Support clients with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, continence care and using the toilet while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
Medication support: Prompt, assist or administer medication safely when trained and authorised to do so.
Meals and nutrition: Prepare meals, drinks and snacks according to clients’ dietary requirements, preferences and care plans.
Household support: Assist with light cleaning, laundry, changing bed linen, washing dishes and disposing of household waste.
Companionship: Provide conversation, reassurance and emotional support to promote wellbeing and reduce loneliness.
Appointments and community activities: Support clients with shopping, collecting prescriptions, attending appointments and participating in social activities.
Promoting independence: Encourage clients to remain active, make their own choices and complete tasks they can safely manage.
Health monitoring: Observe changes in clients’ physical health, mood, behaviour or general wellbeing and report concerns promptly.
Record-keeping: Complete accurate care notes, medication records and other required documentation after each visit.
Communication: Build positive and professional relationships with clients, families, colleagues and healthcare professionals.
Safe working: Follow safeguarding, confidentiality, infection control, medication, health and safety, and risk-management procedures.
Travel between clients’ homes across the Stamford area and work flexibly according to scheduled visits and service needs.
Attend required training, supervision and staff meetings.

Experience

A minimum of one year’s experience in a care setting is required.
Previous domiciliary or community care experience is desirable.
Experience supporting people with mental health needs, autism or learning disabilities is desirable.
Experience providing personal care and medication support is desirable.
Full role-specific training will be provided following acceptance of an employment contract.

Qualifications and skills

GCSEs or equivalent, including English and Maths, are essential.
A valid UK driving licence is essential.
A Care Certificate is desirable.
A Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is desirable.
A caring, patient and respectful approach.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to manage several tasks, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
Basic IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and Outlook.
Ability to work independently in clients’ homes while following care plans and company procedures.
Applicants must have their own vehicle and business-use insurance.

Physical requirements

Ability to carry out the physical duties associated with domiciliary care, with reasonable adjustments where appropriate.
Ability to support clients safely with mobility, personal care and other physical tasks.
Manual handling training is desirable; relevant training will be provided where required.
Essential driving requirement: Applicants must hold a valid UK driving licence and have access to their own reliable vehicle for travelling between clients’ homes.

As this is a community-based role covering Stamford and the surrounding areas, the ability to travel independently between scheduled care visits is essential.
