Catering Equipment Supplier – Serving Customers Across the UK

Kirklands (Staffordshire) Limited is a long-established, family-run business based in Stoke-on-Trent, supplying commercial catering equipment and catering supplies to customers throughout the UK. Due to continued growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Sales Advisor / Trade Counter Assistant to join our team.

We are seeking someone looking for a part-time role working 2–3 weekdays per week, plus every Saturday. The successful candidate will become an important part of our friendly, fast-paced business where customer service is at the heart of everything we do.

This role would suit someone with experience in a retail, trade counter, merchant or customer-facing environment who enjoys helping customers, building relationships and being part of a supportive team.

Pay

£12.71 – £14.00 per hour, depending on experience.

What you'll be doing

Providing expert advice and recommendations to our growing customer base.
Serving customers on our busy trade counter and within our showroom.
Delivering a consistently high level of customer service.
Building relationships with both trade and domestic customers.
Processing customer orders and quotations.
Answering telephone and email enquiries professionally.
Ensuring stock accuracy and processing incoming deliveries using our stock management systems.
Assisting with merchandising and maintaining a clean, organised showroom environment.
Carrying out local deliveries using company vehicles when required.
Supporting the wider team with day-to-day operational tasks.

We'd love to meet someone with:

At least 2 years' experience working in a busy retail, customer service or trade counter environment.
Previous trade counter experience would be highly advantageous.
Experience within builders' merchants, electrical wholesalers, plumbing merchants, catering equipment suppliers or similar environments would be beneficial.
A genuine passion for customer service and a willingness to go the extra mile for customers.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Good computer literacy and confidence using different systems.
A proactive approach with a positive, can-do attitude.
The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Good physical fitness, due to the heavy lifting involved within the role.
Previous B2B sales experience would be an advantage.

Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 3 years with a clean driving record.
Flexibility to work 2–3 weekdays each week, plus every Saturday.
Ability to lift and move heavy items safely.
Previous experience in a customer-facing sales role.
Reliable, punctual and well-presented.
