Full job description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Financial Assistant to join our finance team within a busy manufacturing business. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the company while helping to ensure accurate financial reporting and effective financial controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong accounting and administration skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to develop their career within finance.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing and issuing customer invoices.
Checking supplier invoices against purchase orders and resolving any discrepancies.
Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions.
Maintaining accurate financial records through data entry.
Using Sage Accounts for daily accounting activities.
Assisting with payroll preparation and processing.
Supporting the preparation of month-end accounts and reconciliations.
Chasing outstanding customer payments and maintaining effective credit control.
Assisting with financial reporting and preparing information for the Group Finance team.
Supporting the Financial Controller with ad hoc finance and administrative tasks.
Helping to ensure compliance with company financial procedures and controls.About You

The successful candidate will have:

Previous experience in a finance or accounts assistant role.
Experience using Sage Accounts (essential).
Good understanding of accounting principles and finance processes.
Experience with payroll processing.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Good communication skills and confidence when dealing with customers and suppliers.
Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.
The ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a team.

Desirable

Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of month-end accounting procedures.
AAT qualification or currently studying towards an accounting qualification.
