Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting related to construction projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of projects by ensuring financial efficiency and adherence to budgets. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and experience in cost management.

Duties

Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from initial design through to completion.
Monitor project costs throughout the construction phase, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying potential overruns early.
Conduct regular cost analysis and prepare financial reports for project managers and stakeholders.
Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing and favourable terms.
Manage contractual variations and change orders, assessing their financial impact on the project.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate cost planning and control.
Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to each project.
Assist in procurement processes by preparing tender documents and evaluating bids.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies regarding financial management.

Experience

Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
Strong expertise in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Familiarity with current industry software such as CostX, Bluebeam, or equivalent tools.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
A recognised qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics is preferred. This role offers a dynamic environment where your skills in cost control will directly impact the success of our projects.
