Full job description

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Chef to join our busy pub kitchen and work alongside our current chef. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality food and exceptional service.

Key Requirements

Proven experience as a Chef within a professional kitchen environment.
Previous supervisory experience with the ability to lead and motivate a kitchen team.
Strong background in food preparation, production, and service.
Excellent cooking skills across a variety of cuisines and culinary techniques.
Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and current regulations.
Previous experience within the hospitality or restaurant industry is highly desirable.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to multitask under pressure.
Experience in menu development, food presentation, and maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team while taking initiative when required.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise kitchen staff, promoting a positive, productive, and professional working environment.
Oversee all food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency, quality, and presentation standards are met.
Assist in developing innovative and seasonal menus that meet customer expectations and current food trends.
Ensure full compliance with food safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
Manage stock levels, place orders, and monitor food costs to maximise profitability and minimise waste.
Train, mentor, and support junior kitchen staff in their professional development.
Work closely with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
Monitor kitchen operations during service periods, maintaining quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Implement and uphold all health and safety procedures within the kitchen.
Maintain the organisation and cleanliness of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and workspaces.
