Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Barista to join our team at Starbucks. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to work in a vibrant café setting, engaging with diverse customers while honing your barista skills. Prior experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided, but a passion for coffee and customer satisfaction is essential.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of beverages including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks in accordance with Starbucks standards.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring a friendly and professional interaction at all times.
Handle cash transactions and operate the till system with precision.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas to comply with health and safety regulations.
Restock supplies such as cups, lids, condiments, and ingredients as needed throughout shifts.
Assist in opening and closing procedures to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation in line with company policies.
Engage positively with customers to create an inviting atmosphere that encourages repeat business.

Skills

Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy periods.
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
A keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy in orders and cleanliness standards.
Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is more important.
Basic numeracy skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and evenings may be required.
