About Dolphin House Surgery

Dolphin House Surgery is a long‑established, supportive and patient‑focused GP practice at the heart of the Ware community. We pride ourselves on delivering high‑quality, compassionate care to our 16,500 patients and on fostering a positive working environment where every team member feels valued. As a training practice with a proactive approach to innovation, quality improvement and collaborative working, we are now looking for an enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly nursing team.

Job Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Full Time Receptionist to join our friendly team working for a busy GP surgery. The successful applicant will need to display empathetic attributes and be able to work under pressure. Good administration/computer skills and previous customer service work experience are also required.

This Receptionist role will be for 37.5 hours per week across Monday to Friday with the option of working these hours across 4 days. Hours will vary between 8am-6.30pm.

We may also consider applicants looking for part time.

Responsibilities

This is a varied job with some of the job responsibilities being as follows:

Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.
Processing repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines.
Registrations of new patients, booking of appointments and advisement of results.
To work in accordance of written protocols.

Skills

Excellent communication skills.
Clear, polite telephone manner.
Competent in the use of office and outlook.
Effective time management.
Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
Problem solving and analytical skills.
Ability to follow policy and procedure.

Qualifications / Experience

Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
Customer Service Experience.
1 year Administration experience.
