Experienced Fishmonger

Notting Hill Fish + Meat, London
Salary: £35,000–£45,000 per year, depending on experience
Hours: 40–50 hours per week

Join one of West London’s best fish counters

We are looking for experienced Fishmongers to join our growing team at Notting Hill Fish + Meat.

Known as “The Chef’s Supermarket,” Notting Hill Fish + Meat is an independent food shop in the heart of Notting Hill. We source and sell some of the finest fish, meat, fruit, vegetables and speciality produce available.

Our customers include passionate home cooks, leading chefs and some of London’s best restaurants. They return not only for the quality of our produce, but also for the knowledge, energy and personality of our team.

You will work closely with Fredrik Lindfors, our Head Fishmonger and Co-Owner. Fredrik’s expertise, dedication and uncompromising approach to quality have helped establish Notting Hill Fish + Meat as one of West London’s most respected fishmongers.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Fishmonger who takes pride in their craft, enjoys working with exceptional produce and thrives in a busy, customer-focused environment.

What you’ll be doing

Your responsibilities will include:

Preparing, cleaning, portioning and filleting a wide range of fish and seafood
Producing consistently high-quality cuts to meet customer and wholesale requirements
Serving customers and helping them choose the right products for their needs
Offering knowledgeable advice on preparation, cooking methods and flavour combinations
Creating attractive, well-stocked counter displays
Monitoring stock levels, freshness and product rotation
Supporting ordering and helping to minimise waste
Maintaining excellent food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards
Working closely with the wider team during busy services
Contributing to our culture of hard work, teamwork, energy and fun

What we’re looking for

You will need:

At least two years’ professional fishmongery experience
Excellent knife and filleting skills
Strong knowledge of fish, seafood and seasonal produce
A genuine passion for food and exceptional ingredients
Excellent customer service and communication skills
High standards of accuracy, presentation and attention to detail
The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
A positive, reliable and team-focused approach
The right to work in the United Kingdom
