About the role

Looking for a new challenge or your first step into an office-based finance career?

We are seeking a motivated Payables Officer to join our friendly and supportive Accounts Payable team.

No previous Accounts Payable or office experience is required. We welcome applications from experienced professionals, recent graduates, students completing their studies, and school leavers looking to gain valuable workplace experience. If you are enthusiastic, willing to learn and have a positive attitude, we would love to hear from you.

This is an important role that helps ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time while delivering a high-quality service to a wide range of internal and external customers.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities include:

Processing supplier invoices
Maintaining supplier records
Responding to customer and supplier queries
Supporting payment runs and other payment-related activities
Using a range of financial systems and spreadsheets

Full training and support will be provided.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
Is organised and able to manage their workload effectively
Has good attention to detail and accuracy
Is comfortable using IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
Has good communication and customer service skills
Enjoys working as part of a team while also being able to work independently

The Accounts Payable team supports customers and stakeholders across several counties and is based at New Shire Hall, Alconbury Weald. We are a friendly, collaborative team that takes pride in delivering an excellent service while supporting one another's development.
